Overview

Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health offered by UNIKOP College will be provided with the knowledge and skills in both theory and practical aspects in occupational safety and health (OSH). Upon completion this program, the graduates will be able to identify the various roles and responsibilities in measuring the safety and health of various working place also communicate in oral and written form of the information and ideas about the law in a variety of contexts; identify the overall implications of occupational safety and health (OSH) science technology as it applies to protect workers in the new era and explain how the OSH process works. The student will also have the opportunity to develop attitude and skills in safety and health in occupational side.

Programme Objectives

Developing the individual’s ability in the occupational safety and health field through effective use and combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the programme.
Developing specialist routes of study which relate to individual professions within the occupational safety and health industry in which students are working or intend to seek employment and at the same to develop a range of transferable skills and techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in career life.
Developing individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills such as competency through occupational safety and health knowledge, professionalism and leaderships so as to ensure the graduates of the programme will meet the requirement and expectations of the industries.
Enabling progression to an undergraduate degree or further professional qualification in safety and health or a related area.

1. A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English and 3 credits

in the following subjects:

– Mathematics or ONE science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science)

– Any other TWO subjects (including Bahasa Malaysia and/or English); OR

2. A pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in related field; OR

3. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of grade C (GPA 2.00)

in any subjects; OR

4. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass); OR

5. Certificate related to Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.50; OR

6. Any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework).
